Originally developed as an internal security and public order vehicle, the well known RG-12 has proved to be highly effective in a number of other applications such as command vehicle, cash-in-transit vehicle, tactical rescue vehicle, armoured ambulance, armoured logistics vehicle, and surveillance vehicle. In excess of 700 vehicles are in service in several countries worldwide. The RG-12 Mk2 is readily adaptable to carry theMobile Adjustable Ramp System (MARS) to enhance its capability as a tactical rescue vehicle.

The welded all-steel armoured hull is of monocoque construction with all fittings welded or bolted to the hull, with  armoured protection to withstand 7.61 x 39mm AK, 5.56 x 45mm ball, anti-personnel mines, shrapnel mines, grenades and fire bombs.  With its excellent on- and off-road mobility, versatility and outstanding in-service economy, the RG-12 carries a driver, commander and between six and ten personnel.

This spacious, air-conditioned vehicle has full depth doors allowing ease of access and egress and enhancing operational flexibility.  The plug type doors remain close to the hull during opening and closing, facilitating deployment of the vehicle in narrow or restricted areas.  

Samil 100 configurations include: drop-side loading body, water tanker, fuel tanker, riot-control vehicle, drilling rig, crane & loading body, mobile workshop unit.

Samil 50 configurations include drop-side loading body, water tanker, riot control vehicle, troop carrier, fuel tanker, crane & loading body.

Samil 20 configurations include, drop-side loading body with crane, water tanker, fuel tanker, troop carrier.

DTM, a privately owned South African armoured vehicles company, will be proudly exhibiting the Springbuck Six armoured and landmine protected vehicle at the leading defence exhibition DSEi, to be held in Excel London from 13-16 September 2011.  Visitors will have the opportunity to view the Springbuck Six at stand N3-140.

 

The range of Springbuck armoured personnel carriers have been designed for ease of operation and repair, using internationally available drive-line components for assured reliability as well as availability of parts.  With ballistic protection of B6 upgradeable to B7, the all-steel armoured v-shaped hull can withstand a TM57 landmine or equivalent under the hull or two under any wheel.  This permanent 4x4 vehicle not only boasts exceptional maneuverability but with its powerful MWM engine also handles effortlessly on the open road.  Special attention has been given to the ergonomics of the driver and its 10 passengers.

Attending the IDEF 2011 defense exhibition from 10-13 May as part of the South African Defense industry and representing DTM was a great opportunity to showcase the Springbuck Six and develop new business relationships on the international stage.

DTM takes great pleasure to announce the newest member to our Manufacturing Team,
Victor D. Williams. Mr. Williams comes to us by way of the US Diplomatic Community, where
he accompanied his wife, a 22 year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who served
as the Assistant Legal Attaché at the US Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.
Mr. Williams will serve as our International Business Development Manager and will be
responsible for implementing DTM’s business development strategy on an international level,
identifying new business opportunities and building relationships with the US State Department
in Washington DC and its Prime Contractors, The United Nations and The African Union.
Before joining DTM, Mr. Williams was the Managing Director of Douglas Diplomatic Services, a
logistics support services company which provided, counterterrorism and law enforcement
training and support services to U.S. Government projects, Diplomatic Missions, deployed
African peacekeeping forces, Military bases, NGO’s and other international organisations
throughout the continent of Africa, which he started back in 2004. Mr. Williams brings with him
nearly twenty-one years of marketing and industrial sales experience to DTM and is uniquely
qualified to help navigate the bureaucracies associated with Government tenders from the
United States.
Located in Pretoria South Africa, DTM is a manufacturing company specializing in armoured
