Day 1 Tshipise Forever Resort Musina, South Africa 12 Oct 2010
An early departure from Johannesburg. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, lodge or backpackers in Johannesburg at 6 am. The Roadtrip continues north into the Limpopo Province where we will set up camp in a beautiful bush setting dotted with ancient Baobab trees near the Zimbabwe border.

Day 2 Lake Chivero Recreational Park, Zimbabwe 13 Oct 2010
After breakfast we pack up and head for the Zimbabwe border at Beit Bridge. Our destination is the Lake Chivero Recreational Park where we will camp under the stars. A variety of wildlife can be seen in this area including; White Rhino, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Impala and the rare Sable Antelope and Pangolin.

Day 3 Blantyre, Malawi 14 Oct 2010
Today we drive north east through Zimbabwe and crossing into Mozambique. We will cross the mighty Zambezi River in Mozambique before we reach the Malawi Border. We spend the night camping in Malawi’s biggest city, Blantyre.

Day 4 – 7 Lake of Stars Music Festival, Malawi 15 – 18 Oct 2010
An early start and we have the morning in Blantyre to stock up on essentials before we leave for the Lake of Stars Music Festival on the shores of Lake Malawi. This is what we have all been waiting for. The festival, the lake, the beach, the music, the DJ’s & bands, and the magical atmosphere, all under African skies – what more can you ask for. With an exciting mixture of African and international artists this is bound to be an event that will stay with you forever.

Day 8 Tete, Mozambique 19 Oct 2010
After breakfast we head south again towards the Mozambican border. We camp under the stars on the banks of the Zambezi River in the vibrant city of Tete, Mozambique.

Day 9 & 10 Vilanculos, Mozambique 20 Oct 2010
An early morning start as this is the longest driving day of our Roadtrip. We cross the Zambezi River and make our way towards Mozambique’s spectacular 3000 kilometre tropical coastline. We reach the bustling village of Vilanculos in the late afternoon. Vilanculos is a tropical paradise overlooking the Bazaruto Archipelago with its breathtaking tropical islands, coral reefs and diverse marine life. Vilanculos has a variety of bars, restaurants and colourful markets to explore. We spend 2 nights here camping at a lodge on the beach. In Vilanculos you can take a highly recommended island Dhow sailing safari to one of the nearby islands. On the Dhow day trip you have the chance of spotting dolphins, the endangered Dugong, snorkelling the reefs of Bazaruto and have a traditional seafood lunch prepared on an open fire, Mozambican style.

Day 11 & 12 Tofo, Mozambique 21 Oct 2010
Today we have a short drive to Tofo beach village near Inhambane. We spend two nights in Tofo. In Tofo you can snorkel with Whale Sharks & Manta Rays, dive the world famous Manta Reef, do some horse riding, try your luck at surfing, enjoy the nightlife or just laze on the beach.

Day 13 Maputo, Mozambique 22 Oct 2010
After breakfast we make our way further down the coast reaching the vibrant capital city of Mozambique, Maputo, in the afternoon. This bustling city has an impressive skyline and boasts a unique combination of Portuguese and African cultures. In the evening we’ll enjoy the epic nightlife of Maputo, African style.

Day 14 Johannesburg, South Africa 23 Oct 2010
Today we undertake our final transit back to Johannesburg. We cross the border into South Africa’s beautiful Mpumalanga Province near the Kruger National Park. We reach Johannesburg in the late afternoon where we end a truly unforgettable journey.
