The Glen Lodge and Pub is the current name of the old Glencairn Hotel, built in 1904, situated at Glencairn Beach near Simon's Town. It has long been known by the locals and visitors as 'The Glen'. The Lodge has 8 rooms, all with en- suite bathrooms. The rooms are all different, due to the heritage nature of the hotel, but all are clean, roomy and comfortable. There is also a restaurant 'The Bay Cafe' open for lunch and dinner, as well as the Glen Pub - a well known watering hole.
Along the 'Glen Strip' next door, there is an Indian cuisine restaurant, a pizza take away, a motorcycle pub called 'Viper Lounge', a tourist information centre as well as a scuba diving shop.
The beach is a short walk and has a tidal pool. The station is just around the corner, where a train goes straight to Cape Town.
